How We Work in the Quad Cities

Spray Foam Insulation Davenport insulates and air seals houses, garages, shops and farm buildings on both banks of the Mississippi, from Davenport and Bettendorf to Moline, Rock Island and the small towns around them. We spray closed-cell and open-cell foam, blow in cellulose and fiberglass, and pull out old insulation that is wet, matted or contaminated.

Every job starts with a visit. We go into the attic and the basement or crawl space, measure what is there and check its condition. In a Quad Cities house the usual suspects are the rim joist above the foundation, open chases around chimneys and plumbing stacks, light fixtures and bath fans poking into the attic, the attic hatch, and kneewalls in story-and-a-half homes. We also look for problems that should be fixed before new insulation goes in: roof leaks, damp sill plates, signs of past flooding, old knob-and-tube wiring and loose vermiculite.

Then we tell you plainly what we would do. Spray foam earns its cost on rim joists, basement walls, kneewalls, cathedral ceilings and steel buildings. On a wide, open attic floor, sealing the gaps and then blowing loose fill to depth usually does the job for less, and we say so.

What you can expect

• We look first. No price over the phone for work we have not seen.
• Everything in writing. Each area on the quote lists the material, thickness or depth, target R-value and price.
• Seal, then insulate. Air leaks get closed before new insulation covers them.
• A clean job site. Floors and belongings get covered, the work area gets closed off, and we clean up when we leave.
• Straight talk on timing. Heated basements can be done any month; cold attics and unheated buildings are easier in milder weather, and we plan around that.
• No surprise charges. Work starts after you approve the quote, and changes are agreed in writing first.
